LATEST NEWS & ADVICE FROM BELT UP

Driving instructor exams passed 23rd March 2012

Our lovely female driving instructor, today, took her test of continued ability (check test).

Lianne is one of our highly qualified ‘fleet’ instructors, meaning she has gained additional qualifications to her driving instructors certificate. This means that her check test is taken under the higher requirements in order for her to continue teaching.

A ‘fleet’ registered instructor is a driving instructor, who as part of their continued professional development, has undergone further examinations to be able to visit companies and certificate company drivers as part of the health and safety obligations. As a ‘fleet’ registered and qualified instructor, we would teach learner drivers also, but with additional knowledge and understanding of the learning process.

Most of the Belt Up instructors hold this additional qualification, as we endeavour to be the best driving school on the area, and therefore offer only the best in trainers to our clients, whether it be a learner driver or a company driver.

Lianne has taken her check test today, and her examiner,  was very complimentary about the session she gave.

We congratulate Lianne on passing her check test in the Bristol Multi Purpose test centre.

Driving Test passed in Bristol Brislington 22nd March 2012

Zoe Best from Midsomer Norton has today passed her driving test. She took her test in Bristol Brislington, and despite her high level of nerves, managed to pass at the first time attempt.

Zoe did not tell any of her friends about her test. She did not even tell her parents. They found out while on the way home from the test!

Of course, Lesley, Zoe’s Female Belt Up Driving instructor knew about the test, but she managed to keep it a secret from every one else.

We commend Zoe for this, as sometimes peer pressure can lead to a higher level of nerves, and this can sometimes affect the outcome of the driving test.

Office space at the Somer Valley Enterprise Park, Paulton, Bristol

We are proud to be associated with the Somer Valley Enterprise Park in Paulton near Bristol. We currently use the car parking facilities for our learner drivers manoeuvring practice, and also our trailer towing lessons.

Kate Shakespeare, the facility manager has been so good to Belt Up School of Motoring, that we felt it only fair to show off what the facility has to offer.

They specialise in simple, short term or long term office leasing. They have several offices currently occupied, and many more with clients soon to be moving in. The office spaces are serviced, and rents are extremely competitive.

In addition to the offices, they also have ‘hot desks’ available for the travelling sales person, or for a smaller firm not needing a fully serviced office facility.

Conference facilities are very professional, and would suit any continuing professional development course, or meeting for up to 50 people at a time. Again rates, I have found, are extremely affordable.

The whole building is undergoing a whole makeover with 90 office spaces becoming available (when built), a small, but reasonably sized hotel, and a creche is also in the pipeline.

Belt Up School of Motoring are again proud to be involved with the Somer Valley Enterprise park, and should you want further information on leasing a small, or larger office facility, contact Kate Shakespeare by following this LINK.

Car and Trailer test pass in Bristol MPTC 21st March 2012

Scott Lewis from Shepton Mallet, took his car and trailer test today and Passed at his first time attempt.

He took his car and trailer test in the Bristol Multi Purpose Test Centre (MPTC) early afternoon. His examiner, Dawn, could only find 3 minor faults within the hour and half test, and Scott is really pleased with the result.

This is even more of an achievement, as Scott has only had an hour and half assessment, then another hours training before his test. Proof that you do not necessarily NEED a set 12 hour course to pass the car and trailer test. In saying that, the test is marked quite harshly, so be sure to get good training. Not everyone is the same, and some people do indeed require more training to qualify. Our advice is, have an assessment with one of our experts. Then take the advice given!

It was Kimberleys first time attempt at the test.

This is yet another wonderful result for Kimberleys female driving instructor, Lesley, who is really pleased with the result. As you can see from the photo, Kim was not too impressed with having her picture taken, so decided to hide behind her pass certificate. That certainly is worth showing off!!
