Office space at the Somer Valley Enterprise Park, Paulton, Bristol

We are proud to be associated with the Somer Valley Enterprise Park in Paulton near Bristol. We currently use the car parking facilities for our learner drivers manoeuvring practice, and also our trailer towing lessons.

Kate Shakespeare, the facility manager has been so good to Belt Up School of Motoring, that we felt it only fair to show off what the facility has to offer.

They specialise in simple, short term or long term office leasing. They have several offices currently occupied, and many more with clients soon to be moving in. The office spaces are serviced, and rents are extremely competitive.

In addition to the offices, they also have ‘hot desks’ available for the travelling sales person, or for a smaller firm not needing a fully serviced office facility.

Conference facilities are very professional, and would suit any continuing professional development course, or meeting for up to 50 people at a time. Again rates, I have found, are extremely affordable.

The whole building is undergoing a whole makeover with 90 office spaces becoming available (when built), a small, but reasonably sized hotel, and a creche is also in the pipeline.

Belt Up School of Motoring are again proud to be involved with the Somer Valley Enterprise park, and should you want further information on leasing a small, or larger office facility, contact Kate Shakespeare by following this LINK.

Intensive driving courses

We are a driving school in Bristol, Bath and Frome (and surrounding areas).

We have both male and female driving instructors with availability to start your driving lessons in Bristol, Bath and Frome.

We can teach ‘normal’ hourly lessons, or intensively if required.

For intensive lessons, we will send you a theory CD rom for your home study, we will book your theory test on your behalf and be on the end of a telephone for any additional theory support. The cost will include one attempt at the theory test, so knuckle down and practice on the cd rom and you should pass with flying colours.

Once the theory test is passed, we will book your practical test on your behalf. The cost includes one attempt at the practical test. If the test is not too far away. we can arrange to do either a 20 hour or 30 hour intensive course (depending on your requirements) over one or two weeks if necessary. If the test is a few weeks away, we will suggest to learn perhaps with two sessions per week up to the driving test date.

Learning intensively has its benefits as you will learn faster than if you were having lessons each week. It also has its downfalls as it is really hard work as you will be concentrating hard for long periods of time. Browse over our website, and contact us for further details. A qualified driving instructor in Bristol, Bath or Frome, will be happy to discuss your needs and we can tailor courses to suit you.

A warning to you all!

I heard today that one of our ex pupils was booked recently for drink driving.

The young lad in question passed not two months ago, first time, and with a reasonable low amount of minor faults.

Unfortunately he decided to take himself into the drivers seat at 1am one night after drinking 4 cans of alcoholic beverages. He was pulled, and although he hasn’t had his court appearance, drink driving points stay on any ones licence for 10 years. His driving career has not started well, and as a result, will probably result in him having to re take his driving test, and then should he be lucky enough to pass first time (second time around) he will then have to carry those points on his licence for 10 years which will not bode well for job opportunities etc.

So as a warning to you all, from a driving instructor in Bristol to all young drivers, having a driving licence is a privilege, not a right. Seeing as you work so hard to get it… Please try your best to keep it!

Give truckers a break

It never ceases to amaze me how drivers are unaware of the space artic lorries need to make what could be classed as a simple turn.

The trailer of an artic truck swings out significantly, and most of the time will cut across lanes. This is through laws of physics rather than driver error.

So when driving close to an artic lorry, please remember this and give the driver the space he needs to make his turn. Do this, and you reduce the risk of ending up underneath the trailer.

If whilst waiting at traffic lights, you manage to keep the driver in view in his door mirror, he will also be able to see you and will automatically take more precautions. This might mean that you are, in fact waiting a good few metres back from the stop line, but if it means not being driven over by a truck, then I think that’s good practise!
